Recently I was lucky enough to be invited to take part in Queensland Brides Spring Edition meet-and-greet showcase. Alongside other Queensland bridal designers, "Meika" and I feature in a photo shoot and interview.

Here's a little sneak peak...

Three words which sum up your labels aesthetic?

Describing your own label can be tricky, how other people see the label interests me more. I have asked brides this question and the summary has been: "unpredictably surprising, strong yet wearable and charming".

For the full interview you'll have to buy the magazine. It's on sale now!

"I did something no one else is willing to do."

Pick one thing other people aren't willing to do. Pick something simple. Pick something small. Whatever it is, do it. Instantly you're a little different from the rest of the pack. Then keep going. Every day do one thing no one else is willing to do. After a week you'll be uncommon. After a month, you'll be special. After a year you'll be incredible, and you won't be like anyone else. You'll be you.

This was from a motivation blog, and something I would like to share with my brides, and all my young working brides I have had the pleasure of looking after in the last 6 weeks since I have been home. I am so proud of my brides when I discuss with them what they do with their days. I am absolutely thrilled and a big smile comes over my face, thinking that all the bad news we listen to about economy everyday, here I have my warriors of light, that get up and make the difference everyday in their life. Well done girls, whether you're baby sitting or running a company, girls are working and putting their best foot forward.

These girls will be wives , mums and a huge contribution to Australia. So, next time any political party wants to know what young people are doing, come and ask me! Maybe I can share with them that believing in our young people is not 'Peter Pan attitude', but an attitude we over 50 ;) should carry at all times and encourage our young people coming forward.

Moving premises is like moving house.

You get excited, nervous, cold feet, it's going to be great ! Oh my God, what I am doing? And than it's done, and nothing has changed. You find the things you are use to and it all fall into place.

I felt a bit, rather a lot, like that when I decided that the store and my designs should be under my watchful eyes and be in the same studio as me. For some reason, it was exciting and than very scary as if I haven't done this before (only 25 years).

This week after my trip to overseas and back , fitting in a 40th anniversary with 3 days off, I am back in control. I got up for my first appointment with brides and it was like old times - the make-up went on, coffee and downstairs to find beautiful, fresh very receptive young ladies waiting for me!

I don't know what I was expecting! These are the same young, fabulous people that have made my life a designing life with excitement - friendships, late nights, award days and night.

I ran around frantic for about one hour, going to everyone , "I won't be long nearly finished". No one seemed disturbed except me!

Thinking back today, Monday morning after the week-end, these cool and collected young ladies made me feel like I could laugh and cry when it was over. i

If anyone thought that things had changed, it was ME. The brides had the same attitude and mission - to find a dress of their dreams.

"We know you Pina", that seemed to come up in all conversation.

I have made a decision though, I want to be in a consultation for two hours. One hour seems to be long enough to get to know each other, but the magic begins after that.

So girls, now that the other brides have seen the worse and thought nothing of it, please make two hour appointments, and we are on our way.

The month of June is also stock time, and I will be running a limited stock take sale, of course by appointment . If it's in stock, it's for sale. That includes new gowns etc. So first in, best deal.

make a time by email, pina@fiorenza.com.au, and pick up a cash and carry price (Mind you cash means , cards, bank transfer etc). The deals are going to be amazing and you will be involved in pricing the gowns!

Thank you Saturday girls for giving me such comfort in my own home!

I love you, I had a great day.
